Pengalaman Mahasiswa Dalam Membentuk Identitas Digital Melalui Roblox

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengalaman mahasiswa dalam membentuk identitas digital melalui platform immersive Roblox dengan menggunakan kerangka Teori Efek Proteus. Masalah penelitian berfokus pada bagaimana proses kustomisasi avatar mempengaruhi konstruksi identitas digital mahasiswa dan mekanisme transfer efek psikologis ke kehidupan nyata. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengungkap mekanisme psikologis konstruksi identitas digital, manifestasi Efek Proteus dalam perilaku dan persepsi diri, serta implikasi praktis bagi perkembangan identitas mahasiswa di era digital. Melalui pendekatan library research, studi ini menganalisis literatur akademis periode 2018-2024 untuk memahami fenomena tersebut secara komprehensif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kustomisasi avatar merupakan proses identity work yang kompleks, di mana mahasiswa memproyeksikan diri ideal melalui representasi visual yang selaras dengan diskrepansi antara actual self, ideal self, dan ought self. Efek Proteus beroperasi melalui mekanisme visual priming dan automatic behavior conformity, menciptakan pergeseran perilaku yang dapat terinternalisasi ke dalam konsep diri mahasiswa. Interaksi berbasis avatar terbukti mengurangi kecemasan sosial dan meningkatkan kepuasan pembelajaran dalam konteks synchronous online. Namun, sistem symbolic capital dalam platform menciptakan mekanisme symbolic violence yang mereproduksi hierarki sosial dan menormalisasi ketidaksetaraan. Implikasi penelitian menekankan pentingnya pendekatan holistik dan refleksi kritis dalam memahami konstruksi identitas digital, dengan rekomendasi bagi institusi pendidikan untuk mengintegrasikan literasi digital kritis, praktisi psikologi untuk mengembangkan intervensi yang memfasilitasi perkembangan identitas sehat, dan desainer platform untuk merancang ekosistem yang lebih inklusif dan mendukung kesejahteraan pengguna muda.
